Lynx Collection incorporates a Guesthouse with 6 suites in Hout Bay as well as a Winefarm with tasting room, Tapas restaurant, and a Guesthouse with 17 suites and deluxe double rooms in Franschhoek. It allows our guests to combine a fantastic beach holiday not far away from Cape Town with a stay in one of South Africa’s most popular wine regions.

Our winemaker Pierre with his local farm workers take care of all aspects of the wine production, from the wine in the vineyard to the wine in the bottle.

When we, Manuel and Brigitte Konen, with our three daughters, Annabel, Antonia and Alicia, visited South Africa for the first time and ended up in Franschhoek, we were immediately captivated by the country and the people. Franschhoek is the culinary capital of South Africa and stands for excellent wines, fantastic food and a captivating landscape. Our passion has always been wine and good food. The dream of owning our own winery has been there for a long time… maybe one day! Our family motto “Live your dream” has now come true! With the Lynx Collection we have taken a bold step and made a dream come true.

Our biggest goal and also our biggest challenge on the farm is to satisfy our guests while being sustainable and environmental protection.
To achieve that, everyone has to pull together; the owner, the employees and the guests alike.
As owner, we paid attention to energy-saving lighting and water-saving shower heads. We are self-sufficient and generate all our electricity from a photovoltaic system and the water we use is treated and reused.
We have set up beehives on our premises to contribute directly to species conservation and we water our lawns and flowers efficiently.
Our employees separate and recycle rubbish, dispose the leftovers professionally, and our kitchen team ensures that food is sourced regionally and seasonally.
And what can you do as a guest to protect the environment?
We would appreciate if you would only use water and electricity when and only as much as absolutely necessary, if you used towels and bath towels for longer and cancel room cleaning once in a while.
